Hi all,

I still have my 2-meter Wouxun radio, but I am no longer able to use it.

There was this one repeater that I was able to work, but due to the ugliness
of other people, the repeater was shut down.

I turned on my radio one day as I haven't been on in a while due to health
issues and I discovered it was gone.

I still belong to a radio club here and will be going to their meeting
Monday night. It will be great to get back in the swing of things.

I am still very proud to have my ham license and I am thinking seriously of
going for my general. However, I won't be able to use many of the bands used
by the higher class licensees because of where I live.

Anyway; there is echo link.

There is a problem there too-as I am having trouble finding some good
repeaters to listen to.

And I am having trouble receiving our club repeater on echo link. I heard
others were having the same issue and I plan to talk about it at the
meeting.

I will try the one in Jacksonville fl that some one suggested.

I'd like to get to know more operators and just having trouble getting going
with it-and I am getting rusty. LOL!

I need to learn to set alarms to who is on and who's off and thanks to John
J. Jacques, I now know how to add the callsigns and repeaters to favorites.

So if any of you can suggest any repeaters this technician's licensee can
use, please share.

I have had hip surgery in May of this year, and it went well (it was a
debridment, not a replacement) but even though I am walking quite well now,
I still have a ways to go. I have trouble with walking long distances.

Also, I have gotten eye issues and that threw me for a loop, so needless to
say, it was hard to get on the radio.

When I attend meetings and get around others with radios, I plan on using my
body-worn processors to my cochlear implants as my BTE processors cause RFI.
So we can't have that. <smile.

So I don't know what to do with my Wouxun. Its just sitting there. I may try
putting on my body-worn processors this weekend and see if I can hear the
club repeater. The Behind the ear processors cause RFI for me too. So this
will be a good way to keep my body-worn processors in shape.

Art and our guide dogs JJ and Shirley are doing well and we are finally
getting to see the light in the tunnel.

Hugs and 73
