l recently posted to this list inquiring if anyone had problems similar
to my sudden onset of neuropathy pain and autonomic dysfunction, which
began when I woke up from spinal fusion surgery and I also had nodes
removed in my cervical spine area. I had been successfully gluten free for
10 years prior to this autonomic dysfunction occurring.

The responses I've received are as follows - no one expressed any problems
with autonomic dysfunction other than neuropathy of hands or feet:

6 people had neuropathy prior to being diagnosed with celiac which
gradually resolved after being gluten free
1 person had neuropathy from chemo and had gotten relief from acupuncture
1 person took alpha lipoic, 100 mg, 1-2 times daily
1 recommended *theDr.com* and referred me to the Jornal of Neuroimmun 127
(2002) 145- 148 which referred to a screen for antibodies toward
cross-reactive foods that have a protein makeup similar to gluten.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to respond. The people on this list
are really great.

Mary in MIchigan

* Please remember some posters may be WHEAT-FREE, but not GLUTEN-FREE *
