What if you power the unit from outside the temple? But, the body
pack mic would still have to have internal power. Does that
matter. What would Moses say about internal or external power?

Its a small temple, and leans towards orthodox interpretations of
the law.
That means, since g-d rested on the Sabbath and made it Holy in
the tenth
commandments, observers can't create anything either.
Since changing an electrical current, is creating something
different, you
can't turn on or turn off an electrical device. Especially on
the alter
where the service is held, and the Torah is read.
Therefore the room has to be small enough to be filled by a voice
with out
an amplifier.
The use of P.A. systems is decided upon by the Rabbi and
congregation.
Their are maybe 100 members in total.
This is small town Judaism here. Thought you guys might find
that
interesting. To conduct a service you need ten Jewish men. If
you don't
have that, people can pray individually, but an organized service
can not be
held.
