Tom,You won't believe this, but this morning while doing some tests and 
listening on another receiver I hit that button  instead of the pf key 
that speaks alc/compression.   I was running 5 watts into a dummy load 
and no antenna on the TS-2000 which was the RX radio.    All of a sudden 
the 2000 isn't hearing any TX from the  590.

I was afraid the RX in the 2000 had blown,  until I found my mistake.

BTW, the DRV sends it's output to one of the RCA jacks on the lower 
right hand corner of the rear of the 590.
