Crankshaft is a comic strip that runs daily in many newspapers.
He is now retired after having been a school bus driver for years. He
is a definitive curmudgeon, and is constantly swapping words around so
that his statements cause his friends to say "Huh?"
Another of his trademarks is his ability to blow up the barbecue grill
any time he gets near it. This causes his neighbors to run for cover
whenever they see him in the back yard.
If he were a ham, he would be constantly falling off the tower, or
through the roof while working on antennas, setting the trees on fire
with RF, etc.
There are days when Crankshaft is the only thing worth reading in the
newspaper.
The best response thus far, which I think also came directly to me
rather than to the list, was a comment from Ron Milliman, who said:
"With the political conventions cranking up this week, no doubt Pork
TV is very much alive and well."
