It's always possible it's DOA, but you should recheck everything a few
times just to be sure you aren't overlooking something.
I would do a full reset:
Press and hold A=B key while turning on the power. A conformation
message should come up on the display (don't remember if any voice
output on this), hit the a=b key again to confirm the reset. Hitting
any other key will abort reset.
