I hear you, and it is even harder to get the screw-driver I have to tune 
without the turbo-tuner to help get the SWR down, especially on the lower 
bands where it is extremely narrow.

I would like to try some sort of a wire antenna, but I don't have much 
height to work with, and I'd need the antenna to be easily deployed in a 
small space.  This, of course, is due to the nature of RV camp grounds where 
we stay.  The individual sites are rather close together, and trees are 
rather hard to come by, especially in the right places for antenna ends.

I'm open to any ideas or suggestions.
