Tom, I couldn't hear anyone on the 40 meter net yesterday.

Subject: yesterday's 40-meter round table

Hey, all.

I want to thank Lowell for acknowledgeing me as I tried to check into the
40-meter east coast mid west round table from the RV yesterday afternoon.

I know he could hardly copy me, and I think that was due to a combination of
factors. First, I'm using my screw-driver antenna, which is difficult to
tune without the turbo-tuner, and which isn't mounted very high. Second, I
still have my noise problem, which I'll comment on more next.

Regarding the noise problem, I am now completely convinced that it is from
the RV's battery charger. Also, looking into things further, the house
battery that is being charged is 3 years old, which may mean it is near the
end of its usable life.

I hate to run out right away and get another battery, since we don't use the
house battery that much, but it may come down to it sooner or later.

I'll keep everyone posted.
