Hi all,

I am sending this message as I am thinking things out-and I want any of you
to share your thoughts, and I just want to thank you all for all of the help
you all have provided.

Tonight I went to our ham radio club meeting.

On the way to the meeting, and at the meeting, All of our radios-including
my ht and my friends ht and the mobile in the car all had static on the
frequency I am having trouble getting (146.670 no tone repeater) and this
repeater is the club repeater and all of the other repeaters I am not
receiving.

When we got to the club house, our friend who is a ham and who drove us to
the meeting took my radio and walked away from the clubhouse-and he said the
static stopped.

We are thinking maybe my cochlear implants are causing this issue. (I'm
upset about this thought, but what can one do) you can't put a noise filter
on either the radio or cochlear implant. (mind you this is just conjecture
on our parts) but it makes me wonder if I made a mistake becoming a ham
operator.

However, as I can hear echo link on my pc and 2 of the powerful repeaters in
my area, on my ht, I think I should be thankful for this.

I plan on calling Advanced Bionics Corp, (my implant manufacturer) and ask
some questions.

In the meantime, As I am not the only person having trouble with the above
mentioned 67 machine and echo link, there are problems with said repeater
and echo link and this will hopefully be fixed in time.

So these are just thoughts I wanted to share, and, maybe it is not a mistake
for my becoming a ham, because as I write, things don't look as grim as I
thought in the beginning.

Another thing, I want to try putting my echo link on my IPad, any
suggestions?

I want to see how clear this works and sounds.

Thanks for listening.

Hugs and 73
