As hams, what is it we are testing crap for? I mean, are we running high or low voltage through to see if it conducts well for a possible new antenna or is it strictly for low power stations? Are we testing how far it falls from atop a 50 foot tower verse a 100 foot tower, thus to find a place of the best ground conductivity where a 8 or 10 foot ground rod can be pounded into the ground at that spot? Perhaps it is being discussed for more practical applications such as mixed with concrete for tower bases and guy anchors? I do believe this is the first time since I've been a ham, April of 1966, that I've heard crap studied by hams for obvious purposes of making something out of nothing, if you get my drift. Can you buy this crap for an antenna application and, most importantly, if it doesn't work as described, can it be sent back within 30 days of sed application? What frequency does crap resonate on? Perhaps it is omni directional? That would be my guess. Boy, I can't wait till the Sunday night 2 meter net to spread the word about crap and someone has figured out how hams can use it to improve their stations. I've tested a lot of things in my life but this is a new one on me, sort of speak. I wonder if it will begin showing up on the ham exams soon? Boy, I bet the FCC makes it a requirement by this time next year.
Phil.
