Hi Everyone:

I received a call from Jamie Withem of Youth For Understanding - an
organization that assists foreign exchange students locate host families
here in the States.

Currently Jamie has a teenage foreign exchange student from Germany who will
be flying to the states on August 16th. His name is Tim and he's a celiac
(diagnosed last winter). Tim is waiting to hear who his new family will be.
He will attend the local high school where the family lives. They are hoping
to help Tim have a food safe and healthy stay in the US by looking for a
family who is familiar with or living the gluten free lifestyle.

They are looking for a caring family who would either like to host Tim for
his full 10-month program or "Sample Host" for just his first 3-months. This
would help Tim to learn what foods here are gluten free.

A few words from Tim:

He is 14 years old and has a younger brother 11 years old.

He likes to do sports, mostly soccer, basketball and skateboarding and likes
watching soccer and basketball on TV or in stadiums. He has done other
sports including judo, snowboarding, tennis and swimming.

He likes listening to music.

He enjoys weekend time with family.

Has an interest in computers and his current school expects some homework in
the form of computer presentations.

The family has a dog which is his favorite animal

Tim speaks English fluently. If you feel you are able to be that host
family, or know of a family who would be willing, please contact:
