It's true that in the US junk-food is eaten in large amounts but that doesn't explain why countries with less of an emphasis than the US on junk-foods(such as highly refined carbs) also show increased health-problems with cooked-meat-consumption.

That's actually an own goal, I'm afraid. You see the Inuit are known as the native tribe with the highest amount of raw-meat-consumption within their traditional diets(well, along with the Nenets of Siberia and a few other Arctic tribes). Not that I view them as being entirely immune from disease, though.Oh, and they went in for exclusively wild meats/blubber etc. not generally found in cooked-palaeo diets - I've found that wild game is far superior, nutrient-wise, to any grassfed/organic equivalent.

And I have to admit that I am extremely sceptical of claims that modern hunter-gatherer tribes were completely immune from the diseases of civilisation. For example, there was that study which showed that the Masai had atherosclerotic tendencies(atherosclerosis is associated with intake of AGEs):-

Now, I'll grant you that modern hunter-gatherer tribes have various ways to reduce their AGE-intake/damage done by AGEs such as via frequent violent exercise every day(much higher than our level of physical activity in the West), plus they didn't eat vast amounts constantly like in the west(fasting has been shown to reduce the amounts of AGEs/advanced glycation end products within the body,

which makes sense as the less cooked foods one eats each day, the less heat-created toxins one ingests each day, and so the body can more easily remove them over time. Also, as Weston-Price noted, the healthiest tribes he saw were the ones who included some raw animal food into their diet, and such raw-animal-food-consumption would offset the negative impact of AGE-rich cooked foods. And then of course they used much less damaging cooking methods such as boiling in water.

Re AGE-reduction methods:- I've never heard of the claim that eating meats with berries reduces age-formation - interesting. Have you got a link?

Cooking in water does help a bit. Also a good idea to drink the water after boiling any foods, as otherwise one misses out on water-soluble vitamins leached into the water.

Obviously, cooking less will do less harm and I'm not suggesting that cooked-palaeo is on the same level as junk-food diets.
