typically the smaller jell cell type batteries have flat blade terminals on
them.
Blade connecters have a male, and a female side. The battery will usually
have the male side, and you need to get the proper sized female side for the
radio wires.
I say the proper size because there are several different sizes of blade
connecters, and the size of the battery terminals will be dependant on the
manufacturer, output current of the battery and so on.
You can buy these kind of connecters at any automotive parts
store...including wallmart etc.
The connecters can be bought as crimp on, so you might have to get a
crimping tool...probably 5 bucks at the same place you can get the
connecters.
Just curious, why do you want to run battery power?
By the time you buy a battery, you can probably get an equivalent switching
power supply for the same cost.
