I wonder if the computer was in the process of configuring the updates, does
Jim use Assistive Technology? If IE 9 installed it could have corrupted the
AT software, I've seen IE 9 create many problems for blind users, good luck.

Hello Tom and list.

Jim's computer is out of commission right now. I was helping him get set up
to do email last Saturday, and was trying to install the latest updates both
high priority and optional ones that he might need, but his computer
wouldn't boot up. We were told there was some kind of message on the screen
to click his name to begin. So I did the only thing I could do which was to
move the mouse around on the screen and push the buttons and hope that
something would happen which it did. But now it won't boot up at all.

We were trying System Access for the 7 day trial period, and it said that
system access was unable to start and to call their support number for
assistance, but I don't think that is the problem. Anyway, the person who
set up the computer is planning to come this Wednesday to see what the
problem might be. He wanted to do a system restore, but I told him to only
do that as a last resort since it would cancel out a lot of work that we
both have done. I am sure he will answer all your responses after his
computer is restored. Thanks.
Harvey
