Kevin,

I used to use an Astron 35 amp supply, but I've changed to switching
supplies as I have found them to be more efficient, much smaller and with
almost no birdies.

Subject: Power Supply Purchase Question

Hi All,

This weekend I am going to a local ham fest and am going to purchase a new
linear power supply for my station. I have narrowed my choices to either
the Astron RS-35 (A or M) or the Alinco DM-340MVT. The Alinco seems to have
about 5 more amps of current capability that the Astron but both seem highly
rated. I don't care about metering necessarily but think the Alinco does
have metering no matter what and also variable voltage.

I would appreciate hearing in the next day from some on this list who might
have had experiences with either of these if there is a reason I shouldn't
buy one or the other so I can reach an intelligent decision.

Thanks all for your input and very 73.

Kevin :)
