Nutritional Deficiencies and Maximizing Health in Celiac Disease

for people with celiac disease. Melinda’s clinical lecture will instruct you
on managing continuing symptoms despite strict adherence to a gluten free
diet,and offer detailed information on how to create a well-rounded eating plan
to maximize the health of your gut and, thus, your whole body through balanced
nutrition and important vitamin and mineral supplementation.
Melinda Dennis, M.S., R.D., L.D.N., is the Nutrition Coordinator and a research
investigator within the Celiac Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
in Boston, MA. Diagnosed with celiac disease 21 years ago, Ms. Dennis is a
registered dietitian who specializes in the treatment of patients with celiac
disease and gluten intolerance. She has authored several journal articles on
the nutritional management of celiac disease, and recently co-wrote the
book Real Life with Celiac Disease: Troubleshooting and Thriving Gluten Free -
Winner of the 2011 Indie Book Awards for

Ms. Dennis currently serves on the American Dietetic Association’s (ADA)
Evidence Analysis Library task force for celiac disease, which has written the
national guidelines for the nutritional management of celiac disease for
dietitians.
