Yes ,the very first thing that comes to my mind is the BIOS version.
Is it the same as the broken board or the latest version for that matter?
Since it happens to all partitions ,it looks like the most likely cause.

Subject: [PCBUILD] sleep mode problem
I have a Shuttle SX58H-PRO computer running Windows 7 Pro 64bit. Recently, I
installed a Samsung 830 SSD and managed to damage the motherboard while
reinstalling the video card. This is just a warning to others of this
possible hazard. The video board bracket broke a small surface mount
capacitor. In any case, I got a replacement board from Shuttle for $65
(reasonable).
Here is my problem. I used to use the sleep mode most of the time to save on
startup time. It worked very reliably. After getting the system running
again, sleep seems to work if I have no applications open. If any app has an
open window and I try to activate sleep, the computer shuts down instead and
I get an error message on next startup saying the computer was shut down
improperly. This scenario is very repeatable.
I tried to reinstall the ACPI and other drivers with no improvement. Doing a
Google search shows that others run into similar problems but no solution
seems at hand. There is one other curious symptom. I have three drives in
the system, and each has a bootable partitions (for backup and
experimenting). All installs behave the same. On my main Windows install,
however, the hibernate option does not show up in Advanced Power Settings of
Control Panel. I don't know if this is significant.
Any ideas of what to check next? Since all worked ok with the original
mother board, it is possible that the MB is responsible, but I want to make
sure my OS is configured properly before I start accusing Shuttle of having
a problem. Thank you for any help.
