Carl, I have no experience with any antenna with the Baofeng modified SMA
configuration, so can't really be of help that way, although I do have one
of the lil adapters sold by w4kma, Importcommunications.com, used that
adapter with a roughly 8inch very slim line triband duck type antenna, and
the ant seemed to work a little better than the stock uv5r antenna. HTH,
