I'm also copying this message to the blind hams list as others might be 
interested in this discussion.

I've always been disappointed in short antennas, but I'm still looking for a 
short antenna that really works.

What do you think of the MP1 antenna on 80 meters compared to either a 
quarter wave vertical or a dipole?

I have an original too and need to replace the 80 meter coil so I'm glad
they're back.
