Hi Butch,

Go with the PlexTalk Pocket or the BookPort Plus. They do stereo 44.1 wav
as well as loads of flavors of mp3. Yu can pause and stop recording. The
devices have switchable line and mic inputs. They even have talking vu
meters. They'll do nls, bookshare books, text and html files as well as doc
and docs files. Podcasts can be downloaded from the net and you can listen
to audio streams via a built-in wifi. I've got the Pocket and love it. The
BookPort and Plextalk use the same hardware but slightly different software.
You can obtain the Plextalk from Freedom Scientific and the BookPort from
APH. Look to spend around $350.
