I'm also using a ts2000.  Use a cw signal, am, or fm.  Personally, I prefer cw
but don't leave that signal open for too long.  Am is probably the easiest but
will show lower power ratings.  If you really need to use an ssb signal, a tone
gemerater will work for that in the same configuration that you would use for
ssb signal analysis.
