        Hi, all.

I have said this so many times, but this list has become an extremely
meaningful part of my life, both with regard to ham radio, and with regard
to the many friendships I have developed here over the years.

So, I hope noone considers this post to be too "off topic".

I simply want to explain why I might be conspicuously absent from the list
for a few days at least.

Last night, my mother was rushed to the hospital in Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania, and was very near death due to a severe heart failure
condition.

Today, she has improved slightly, but is still in very critical condition,
and the next 24 to 48 hours will be absolutely critical in terms of
determining her future prognosis.

As a result, I need to fly to Pennsylvania immediately to help tend to the
situation.

I will have my laptop with me, but may not be in much of a position to
respond to any e-mails, so please do not take it personally if you don't
hear from me directly.

I'll keep everyone posted as I find out more.
