Most Icom radios you can change the backlight color. I don't know about the 
706 radios but it might be worth checking in to. Hmm, 700-800? maybe I 
should sell mine. I only paid 700 for mine new, granted that wasn't exactly 
yesterday but I haven't put it mobile yet. I'll have to think about that.
