Are you sure your rig is a TMV7A, and not a TMV71a right out of the box?
As far as I know, you can't get TMV7A's new any more--just used.
If you actually have a TMV71A, the firmware upgrading is pretty straight
forward, and I can send you the instructions I have to accommplish it if
you'd like me to.
Actually, I should probably check the firmware version I have on all three
of mine--the one in the home shack, the second in our vehicle, and the third
in the motor home.
