What fun we will have when they come close to our 70cm radios. I can
imagine some guy some where having dinner with his wife and he keeps
kicking her under the table, for somewhere nearby some ham is having a QSO
with some buds... Gary KB2YAA

This is from my home town,/Manassas, VA, list, thought it might be of =
interest, Blessed CHRISTmas to you all, and that's not meant as a =
cynical reflection on the newsre 70CM, but rather as a sincere wish to =
all of you! Danny.

From CQ e-mail news.

FCC Allows Implantable Medical Devices at 413-457 MHz - Devices will use =
electric currents to activate and monitor nerves and muscles in hopes of =
restoring mobility and function to people who have lost the use of limbs =
or organs, and will share spectrum with hams on 70 centimeters.

What a Christmas present! There must be more to it. But on its face, =
it looks like FCC has created another "opportunity" for amateur radio =
signal ingress/interference with a critical device. I imagine a person =
with one of the devices implanted in an arm going all "herky-jerky" when =
a passing mobile or hand-held transmits on 440. Hope I'm wrong. But =
watching the FCC lately, I doubt it.

73,
Arthur
