Hi all,

I have a pair of Drakes, the T-4XB and the R-4B. I don't have them on the
air yet, however it will be soon.

As I mentioned in earlier posts, I have been off the air for 20 years plus.
I had the Drakes on the air back then.

Personally, I think the "B" line were the best twins. The "C" line receiver
had more filter options, however, I think it was a cheapened version that
required you to spend money for features.

Mike, there are four cables that connect between the transmitter and
receiver and one of them is a special cable that has a 52 ohm impedance and
must be used for the injection connection. These cables are marked with a
little label wrapped around the cable where the wire enters the molded
plug. The injection cable also has an additional paper tag on the cable
warning you to use this special cable in its proper place. The rest of the
cables are all the same. These cables are still available in the after
market.

Pat is correct, if you want to operate AM for example you would have to set
the receiver to AM along with the transmitter. It sounds complicated,
however, it is easy.

If these radios are in good shape go for it.

There are people who can service these radios.

I love my Drakes and won't part with them.

You will love the audio sound from this receiver. I am referring to the "B"
receiver, I don't know about the "C" version.
