Words fail to express my shock and sadness at the untimely and tragic death of my friend and colleague, Kofi Awoonor. I knew Kofi over the years and have a vivid picture of us together, at conferences, especially of the ALA (African Literature Association) and the MLA, but also during his short visits to UW's African Languages and Literature Department.
Sleep well, Kofi. I will miss you sorely.
