My best years on the air were when I was using a 7dB gain yagi and driving it with 600 watts.

Very satisfying having rag chews on the key all over the world with a good degree of consistency - including with K7RX!

Also useful for pile up busting to work DX.
Also useful for contesting!

Scott, I like you have never run power.  Mostly because I live to close to 
too many people, like say my wife.  I just don't want the headaches.  The 
other reason is money.  Amps cost to much for the use I'd get out of them. 
Therefore I run mostly CW.  I seem to get much more average audio output 
from my old corsair and Omni D than I get out of the ts-480.  You'd think 
100 watts would be 100 watts, but no!!!
Anyway I have to talk to Pat about this corsair, haven't forgotten but have 
been busy.
That's another story.
