Ok, I'm about to embarrass myself here, but how can I safely check the
voltage at the radio?

My TS590 is connected to the power supply through a rig-runner using
Anderson Power poles. I can tell you that the output power remains reduced
when connecting the 590 to my Astron supply both via the rig runner, and
directly to the supply itself.

Please do take those power readings for your 590 after your firmware
upgrade, and let us know what you find.
