Hi all,
I have learned several things in the past week.
First, thanks to Pat Tice for his excellence in the way he presents the mp3
lectures. For one who is deaf, I must commend him for his clarity of speech
and emphasis on phonetics.
I am learning that phonetics are used a great deal as I am deaf-blind and
use cochlear implants. Thank you.
In listening to my police scanner, I am also learning the phonetics. I am
also thankful to those officers and dispatchers who use it.
I am having a bit of trouble with the metric system. I know I will get it,
but I am having a time picturing how it works. Any pointers from any of you
great hams would be so much appreciated.
I have learned much about frequency and wavelength and I think I am getting
there. I have a long way to go, but I am sure I will see the light at the
end of the tunnel.
You would think that learning about the metric in high school all those
years ago, I would remember it. LOL! But I don't think I quite got the
picture even then. I know the tiniest bit about it, but not quite enough.
