Hi Linda,

Welcome to the list.

This is another Howard, I am in Springfield, Illinois and my call is W A 9 Y 
B W.

I have been a ham for 44 years and was first licensed in eighth grade in 
1968.

73's means good-by, best wishes etc.

I used Handi-Hams to study for the Extra exam about 2 years ago and I can 
say that the study material they offer is great.

Don't hesitate to ask questions.
