Hi Tom,

IS the center conductor crimped to the center pin of the connector? If it
is just held there by pressure, I don't think the connection would hold up
with temperature changes.

Subject: A little more info on Shakespeare solderless PL259 connectors

Hi, all.

For those interested in the Shakespeare solderless PL259 coax connectors
I've been discussing, I talked to a guy from Shakespeare Technical Support
this afternoon, and he told me that the connectors will only handle up to
500 watts. So, I guess it would be wise to limit the connectors to
situations where relatively low output power levels are involved.

I hope this info helps someone.

I'll let you know my experiences when I try out one of the connectors,
hopefully this week-end.
