Bob,
When I took the extra at Dayton in May, they had several people assigned to
help me. Not sure more than one would have been needed but it was their
show and I let them do it the way they wanted. One guy red the questions,
another wrote down my answers and a third guy monitored to make sure
everything was being done correctly. It worked out well and probably went
more quickly than if I had Braille available but of course that's a very
personal prefference. You're right though, taking it electronically would
be a great option. I'm not sure whether their choices had to do with VE
requirements or their own policies. Of course at Dayton they would deal
with all kinds of situations so perhaps they are basing their methods on
prior experience. I found it to be a pretty well-oiled machine and it
worked quite satisfactorily. louou kolb
