you've got the choice of nokia products with talks or mobile speak.
More costly perhaps, but the choice is still there for a few more years.
You've also got the blackberry with it's screen reader...again, not the 
best, but still an option.
We now have viable options with four completely separate kinds of phone, 
which wasn't the case even 3 years ago.
We've got the choice of IPhone, Android, nokia or blackberry.
