press f6 a few times, and when it says edit box, press tab and you'll 
see the list of messages. when you wish to write one, press tab and 
write when you hear "edit box." press tab to cycle between.
Press f6 to go back to the main echo link screen. the first f6 and 
subsequent f6  commands cycle you between different windows of interest.
