I wouldn't be too surprised if that connecter is soldered directly into a
PCB of some kind instead of having individual wires.
I would guess there is a nut that secures the connecter on the front.
Probably underneath a plastic face plate though.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it or you'll end up with a worse problem than
before.
