The band runs from 24.890 - 24.990.

The CW portion is 24.890 - 24.930.

When it first opened in the mid 80's, I had a dipole which I built
from leftover CB antenna parts.

I worked the world with that antenna over the next 15 or so years.

When that band and 17 meters were first opened for our use, you were
king of the hill if you had anything more than a dipole for an
antenna. A bunch of people built 2 element beams. When you heard one
of them, you would have thought those guys had the world's largest
antennas.

It's amazing how well almost any antenna will perform when a band is
wide open, but not crowded.

I hope to either hang another dipole for 12 meters, or perhaps a delta
loop sometime between now and Christmas.
