I see LJD's analysis in a different light. It is better to tackle the issue now than wait till the day after when the dogs at A(F)PRC would, without a doubt unleash the same argument if they had to. Here I am assuming of course, that Hamat could actually win the elections as an "independent candidate" - a slim chance to none. BTW, Hamat running as an independent candidate makes a mockery out of a "united front"....but that's another issue to discuss.
I'd rather face my shaky position now and before the battle than repent after winning the battle. Yes, I see the glass half full in this case and I actually believe LJD is helping us all by pointing the obvious rather than entertaining the convenience of a quick "union" while playing Russian roulette with the constitution.
