Are you 100% gluten free? That is the first step. Giving up sugars is not
easy, but it is really true that after a while, the cravings go away.
Sometimes if one has arthritis then the nightshades need to be avoided too.
Figuring out the optimal diet is a bit of a trial and error. Take foods out and
add them back in.
What is recommended is to start out with the idea you are going to do this
for just 30 days. You have to make it an honest 30 day trial. At the end of
that time, see how you feel. You will know if you are on the right track.
Let me know if I can be of help or you want some website info.

have been on a paleo diet for the past 4 years. I have been GF for 9
years. I figured out very quickly that eating the processed GF grains did not
agree with me. I dropped all grains/sugars/beans/seed oils and am doing much
better. I cannot handle starchy or sugary foods as they spike my blood
sugar. Eating this way I am able to keep my blood sugar in a good range all day
long.
I think too often people with CD and GS just exchange their gluten filled
junk food diet for a GF junk food diet. Sorry, I lump all the processed
grain products into the junk food category.
Have you read Robb Wolf's book Paleo Solution? You can find all the same
info on his website, _www.robbwolf.com_ (http://www.robbwolf.com/)
You may want to catch the last few days of the Real Food Summit. Each day
the you can listen to the speakers for free for 24 hours. There have been
some excellent speakers. _http://realfoodsummit.com/_

My father is on the paleo diet and he loves it. I know there is talk of it
helping many people with all sorts of physical problems. I don't eat
grains and hardly any dairy but I am far from paleo. Even with just eliminating
grains I see and feel a difference.

+YES! My partner, who is also GF, and I have been doing this for 8 months
now and it really works for us.

Paleo works well. I also got diabetes so have to do it. Dr. Richard
Bernstein's Diabetes Solution has
good info.

I'm reading Robb Wolf's book right now and am going paelo soon. So would
love to hear other people's responses!
+++++I am trying it and seeing huge improvement in muscle fatigue,
stiffness, and
digestive problems. Clearly, gluten-free isn't enough for me.

Yes, I've done it for quite a few years and it works really well for me.
Really helps with the joint pain and the inflammatory issues. And I feel
healthier and more energetic!!

It has worked wonders for my mom - she has lost quite a bit of weight and
feels better than she has in a long time!

Do you mean "Do Paleo diets make one feel better?" In my case, a lower
carb diet helps me digest better and I don't have as many yeast infections or
urinary tract issues. I didn't purposely choose this diet...it evolved
over time. Suddenly, it had a name.
I find I do need to eat lots of cauliflower and broccoli for fiber (fiber
helps fish and chicken pass through our tracts. Red meat is too hard for
me.)

Let me know what you find out. Is this diet for weight lossYes, I use a
modified Paleo diet. I say modified because I keep my grains to an
absolute minimum eating only a couple times a week a homemade hamburg or hot dog
bun.
I have explored the subject of gluten intolerance and we have a
nutritional specialist in the area who addressed our local Celiac group. She
personally moved from Gluten free to a grainless diet and found remarkable
improvement in how she felt. She explained it's what happens to grains in storage
that our bodies react to as well as industrialized farming. Grains just
aren't what they were 100 yrs. ago and our bodies react to them.
