Hi, all.
As you'll see below, version 1.06 of the TS590 firmware is now available
from Kenwood.
Has anyone successfully installed this update?
What are the advantages of doing so?
I currently have version 1.04 on my TS590, and am deciding whether or not to
take the leap and update my rig.
The process does involve some risk, so I just want to be careful here.

Subject: [KenwoodTS-590] New Firmware update
New Firmware version available today:
http://www.kenwood.com/i/products/info/amateur/ts_590/ts590_update_e.html
Updated items : (Version 1.05 1.06) [December 22, 2011]
Updates the following features.
1. Improves desensing level caused by strong out-of-passband signals on
up-conversion bands.
2. Reduces the minimum volume of the TX monitor in [FSK] mode.
3. Changes the time constant of the ALC meter and the Speech Processor
compression meter from 50ms to 300ms.
Revises the following symptoms.
1. Just after an AT tuning is completed, the S meter level might become high
for a moment.
2. Preset data of the internal antenna tuner might not be stored correctly
for each antenna connector ANT1 / ANT2.
3. Cannot record CW messages correctly when the built-in electronic keyer is
set to Mode A.
