	Tom,

If you are able to try more than 1 program, such as N3FJP, XMlog, Ham 
Radio Deluxe, and none of them work, I would try reasigning the port 
number.   You said it installed as com 4.  Perhaps there is a conflict 
or problem with com  4 on your system.   Use the instructions you got 
from Kenwood at the start of this project and reassign the port another 
number (3, 5, 6, or whatever) and see if any of the software will work. 
   Be sure to change the port number in each program as you try them.
