	John,

I had told Tom  off list how to find the virtual com port as you 
described, but haven't heard back from him.

The only thing I would add is that  the radio doesn't need to be on, but 
the power to the radio does need to be on.   With radio off and power to 
the radio on, the pc will  see both the virtual com port and the usb 
audio device, if they are installed.
