I think the messages are evaporating out of the Internet
in the heat. On Sunday, Stillwater, OK hit 111. We reached 109
yesterday and we have had one day like that after another most
of the Summer.

I plan to take vacation the week of Labor Day so I get
32 hours of leave but get the whole week off.

The Six Meter band is occasionally coming to life around
here but nothing much else is. We're all just waiting for those
glorious cool days of Fall.

I work for Oklahoma State University in our
telecommunications department and we are getting the last few
changes we can make to the network in before August 1. At that
point, we can't make any more changes until two weeks after
School starts which is August 22 this year.

The next couple of weeks here are going to be as dead as
a doornail. No kids, lots of heat and the place like a ghost
town in the afternoons.

I was listening to hiss and static on 6-meters Sunday
when, out of the blue, this fellow in Montana was calling CQ. I
don't think I heard anybody else so it always pays to give a
spin through 6 and 10. You never know what you'll find.
