Hi Jerry,
Well, I am thinking that there might be some corrosion in some of the
connections between the various pieces of the vertical. This would account
for the loss of receive signal strength.
God bless,
God Loves you!

I have the butternut 6v. When I first got it it worked great. I have had =
it for about 4 years and lately it seems that it doesn't work as good on 20=
as does my dipole. FWhen I try to listen on 20 meters, I don't hear very =
much compared to when I use the dipole. Maybe it's just me but Not having =
any knowledge of how to adjust the vertical or what to look for that might =
be affecting it, that's problem the trouble with it. However with an anten=
na tuner I get about 90 to 94 watts out and 5 to 6 reflected and an swr of =
about 1.6. The vertical is just sticking in the ground. I want to get the=
tower up and get the counter poise for it maybe that would help to get tat=
antenna on the tower.
