My wife, knowing I'll spend the next few weeks laying tile at our home in the summer heat (105º-107ºF in Tucson forecast !), and for Father's Day, got me a six-pack of assorted GF beers from the 14 varieties offered at Plaza Liquors in Tucson (no financial interest - it's just a friendly store with a great selection).
The bottle that caught my eye lacked an ingredient label - Omission Beer. "It isn't just what we took out, it's what we left in" was the tag line on the label.
and on their website http://omissionbeer.com, the brewer provides links to the competitive ELISA R5 test results for your bottle code, as well as this disclaimer:
"Product fermented from grains containing gluten and crafted to remove gluten. The gluten content of this product cannot be verified, and this product may contain gluten."

Recalling this study from a previous post to this list:
What is in a Beer? Proteomic Characterization and Relative Quantification of Hordein (Gluten) in Beer
http://pubs.acs.org/stoken/presspac/presspac/full/10.1021/pr2008434

I cited it and have inquired of the brewery what they think of it.

In the meantime, I'm pretty sure Plaza will trade this brew for a truly GF bottle. I plan to avoid this beer like I avoid even "GF" oats, just to be sure.

Jack
