Folks,
We are very concerned about your suggestions on the issues concerning
the Gambian Reunion(July 4th). We are listening very carefully and
taking heed to all the problems. We are learning from our mistakes
year-in, and year-out, we've came a long way and I believe by far we're
on the right tracks.
On the Dodou Mbye Soccer:
We've concluded that we have outgrown Therrell HS by far; therefore,
this might be our last year using the HS grounds. We will find a soccer
complex(with 3 to 4 fields) to stage the qualifying rounds in this way
the games will not have to start around noon. It was torturous for a
team like Seattle to figure in a noon game in Atlanta at temperatures in
the 90degrees. I thought to myself, why are they playing in long
sleeves? Obviously, nobody advised them and as Co-ordinator I took
responsibility for that. I'm sorry Seattle that I did not advise you to
dress lightly!
On the whole, it was a well played tournament. I think every team
represented well and I hope next year we'll be able to duplicate the
quality of the tournament. We will venture in to corporate sponsorship
next year and if there is anyone out there with ideas regarding this
please let me know.
We will have a guestbook pretty soon on our website:
www.atlgambians.com, your suggestion will be appreciated if posted on
this guestbook. Till then...
