                           HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

********************************************************

Send onbehalf of Mathew. He said he could not post....

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
 > >
I send you greetings. I hope and pray that all of you enjoy peace and happiness in the New Year we just entered. The purpose of writing is to inform members of the African Association of Madison of the recent incorporation of The Africa House, Inc as a tax exempt 501 (C) 3 charitable organization. The Africa House was conceived to help Africans and new African immigrants to the Madison, Dane County and South Central Wisconsin area resettle seamlessly in their new environment in Wisconsin. The organization's areas of activity are identified as:
 > >
> > i. Immigration Matters (we will not reinvent the wheel here, will still use the same immigration
> > agencies that are providing help to Africans now).
> > ii. Jobs
> > iii. Housing
> > iv. Health Care
> > v. Youth Development
> > vi. Women's Welfare
> > vii. Food Pantry
> > viii. Child Care (in the future)
 > >
> > The Africa House, Inc. will operate from rental premises in the short term. But, in the medium and long terms, the organization plan to own its own permises, to more effectively address issues facing the African Diaspora in our area. A location has been identified and talks have begun with property owners to rent the premises to Africa House, Inc. This location will serve as office location, food pantry, computer room for training and public use. A formal letter to The African Association Board will follow, detailing in more depth Africa House's agenda. Similarly, contacts will be made with each individual member organization that comprise MACON, to request their full coperation by identifying areas in which The Africa House, Inc. can be of assistance to their membership. The Africa House, Inc. will hopefully create between five and ten new positions, and such employees will represent the diversity of the Africans and our American hosts. In time, we, that is; The Africa House's Executice Director, that would be myself, or the President of The African Association of Madison, will write to Mr. Munoz, Executive Director, Centro Hispano and Mr. KuouVang, Execiutive Director, United Asian Refugee of Wisconsin, both of whose organizations I know and has profiled in the Madison Times Newspaper, to thank them for all the services rendered to our African brothers. A website will be developed in due course and the Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation of The Africa House, Inc. will be posted for the general public's consumption. The Africa House, Inc. will operate independent of The African Africa Association of Madison, but will work coperatively with them in all matters affecting Africans and their families. Finally, a new Board for The Africa House, Inc. to derive from member organizations of MACON, will be (selected, elected or nominated, still to be decided) and terms and conditions are outlined in the Bylaws still to be made available for perusal. I look forward to working with you. I am exited, I have passion and I have drive; now lets get out there and make things happen. P.S. my c.v. will be posted on our website, for those who may question my abilities and qualifications.

Thanks again....

Mathew K. Jallow
Executive Director
The Africa House, Inc.
