FWIW (what you just paid :-) ), my opinion is that "paleo" is not what a particular HG group consumed at a particular time or with some regularity, but rather what foods were staples for most HG groups over the long history of our genetic ancestors. Even if a "non-paleo" food was a staple for a particular group, if that group was in the minority then it is statistically not as safe or healthful a food for our consumption as the core "paleo" foods.
I think that HG's ate quite a wide variety of foods, sometimes of necessity and
sometimes experimentally. But on average their staple foods were in the "paleo" category (by definition).
Even for the Kung San, it does not seem that this milk was a staple and
even if it was they are a minority in the long history of HG's that are
our ancestors. So, strange though it may seem, this finding supports my personal view of HG consumption even though milk is not paleo.
