I just heated up Gluten-free, All Natural, Vegan Black Bean soup by Dr. McDougall's Right Foods. First time I had it.
Most store bought gf soups are either too bland, not kosher (kosher style) or too salty for me, but I really liked this one, and my first reaction was....it is very similar in taste to the chili that I love at Pizzeria Uno Chicago Grill.
Next time, I'm going to stir in sauteed ground beef and diced red onions, and add a touch of chili powder....and I think I'll have a replica of the restaurant chili.
At Uno's you have to request the gluten-free version... not to have corn chips, which they fry in contaminated oil, but we can have corn chips at home. And since I don't have meat and cheese together, I'll just leave the cheese out at home...as I do at Uno's.
I have no personal connection to Dr. McDougall's or Chicago Grill/Uno's. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you where to buy it, because I don't recall in which supermarket I found mine, but, on the box, they have a website: www.rightfoods.com and a distributer address: Dr. McDougall's Righ Foods, P.O. Box 426, South San Francisco, CA 94083
I also have a container of this brand's lentil soup, but haven't tried it yet.
