looks like this is no longer about repeaters, so can we please watch topics, as i have a few hundred E mails a day to read and reading something tagged about repeaters to find out it's about windows mail clients is slightly annoying also dann, k4itl is totally blind and has built probably a quarter or more of the repeaters in the state of North Carolina and runs a large controllable linking system. I talked to him with an old 220 handheld and he could tell i was off frequency and exactly by how much as he sat at his radio desk in his house all from the informationhis repeater allowed him to gather. among his repeaters are 146.88 and 224.16 both repeaters near the top of the wral tv tower and having a coverage area of at least 60 miles to any mobile and coverage of the entire Raleigh NC metro area with a ht and rubber duck
as with anyone who runs a repeater he needshelp, but no repeater is a one person operation. if there is a robelm with a repeater someone goes to the rack ubolts it and ships it to him he rebuilds it and ships it back I've had the pleasure of meeting daddy and he's a very nice guy too... he's also the am of the year for last year's dayton hamvention if memory serves
